Do you agree that the Province of Alberta should cease to be a part of Canada to become an independent state?

Any eligible Alberta voter can sign. You must sign in person and provide your name and address as they appear on the voter list. If you’re unsure about eligibility, visit one of our signing locations and our volunteers can help.

Rules:

• At least 18 years of age

• Canadian citizen


• Ordinarily resident in Alberta



You will be asked to provide ID to prove your residence.

• Provide one piece of Government-issued photo ID (such as Driver's Licence) including your full name, current address, and photo; or
• Provide two pieces of ID, both containing your full name (such as an Alberta Health Care Card or Birth Certificate), and with one showing your current physical address.

• Provide physical (civic) address (such as a Utility Bill).
No mailing addresses such as P.O. Box. Include municipality and write clearly.
• Provide contact info (phone or email).

• Sign once; do not sign for others.
• One signature per person; no signing on behalf of another individual.


• Elections Alberta may contact signers to verify information.

This petition is about protecting our shared future and ensuring Alberta has a voice in the referendum on whether Alberta becomes it's own state independent state. Your signature helps move this democratic process forward, signals community support, and enables us to meet the official requirements set by Elections Alberta.

Signatures are collected in person. The official petition period runs from January 3, 2026 for 120 days.
